CD recording from May 2000 by Greve Harmoniorkester. Euphonium soloist: David Childs Conductor: Philip Sparke
I love this version. I find steven mead played it a little cleaner over all. But I loved David's trill and resonating last note so clean. Better than steven mead.
Great version, thanks for sharing!
Wow , that blew me away
How come? Please explain.
David Childs is the Roger Federer of Euphonium
Then who is steven mead to euphonium?
The “TONE” Kings: (1.) Demondrae Thurman (2.) David Childs (3.) Philip Sparke (4.) Brian Bowman It simply doesn’t get any better than their “sound(s)”. 💯
One of these things is not like the others...
@@MrMWPeach true enough😅
Steven Mead?
@@Jonavttp I (personally) think Mead may have the best overall technique & playing ability of all time on Euphonium. Dude’s an absolute surgeon! I don’t believe he has one of the best tones. The way he plays is certainly by design - I just find it “thinner”, “brighter” w/less “weight” on the sound than the 4 I listed above. What’s your opinion? Whose tone do you enjoy most?
@@THEbeautifuLIE My favorites are probably Robert Vos, Mead, and David Childs, but you have an excellent point
Der beste Komponist aller Zeiten!!!
3-2-1 dusty bin !!
This is absolutely beautiful and stunning!!
Still is.
hi, would it be possible for me to have the score please? My brother wants me to play for his wedding. My email: hamptonchris12@gmail.com. Thank you
I just posted it for you - have fun :-)
I love it.
Music for trumpeters holiday
very good David childs
神!!
Cool I'm playing this for my middle school solo and ensemble festival. I can play everything even the 3rd octave Eb but I just can't play the fast part in the end accurately. I can get the phrasings but I can't accurately hit each note. It's too late to back out and my solo is in a month. Any recommendations to help me? I am super desparate for feedback on how to play that fast part.
Robert?
Jonah Sablan Ay
Empire Videos grab a metronome and start playing it at a low speed to learn all the notes well and then speed up with 5 every time you've played it good:) that's how I learned Harlequin by Philip Sparke... If that doesn't work, just play it a little less fast, you're the soloist, not the orchestra or the piano you're playing with :) good luck!
+EmpireVideos what if we played this for winter concert?
no
+1
We played this song w Demondrae Thurman at Mays High School can't find a clip anywhere sadly😓

is it possible to get this song for trumpet and organ? Mariauddh@hotmail.com
Dear Sören. I'm looking for song for trumpet & organ to play it by the wedding of my sister-in-law. On a CD 'Best wedding 50' I found this traditional norwegian wedding march. I was very pleased if you can send me both score parts as pdf. You can send it to Marco.fahl1973@gmail.com. Thanks a lot! Greatings from Germany. Marco
Sören, could you send the score for trumpet and organ to viola.rosenquist@gmail.com ? Tack!
Ive never known the Euphonium is such a active and inimitable brass instrument
It isn't in Orchestras and rarely gets love from wind ensembles - aside from wind ensemble marches - but it really shines in solos and brass band and can be a valuable asset in wind ensembles if the players know how to make good sounds as it can bridge the incompatibility between tubas/trombones.
Hello! we would also like to play this march on our wedding. Could you send the score for trumpet and organ to us to? My email is j.sjolind@gmail.com thank you!
Hello! Is it possible to have that score? I need to play it with french horn, but I don't find score anywhere. Ofcourse I need to transpose it little bit lower... My email is mipulkki@siba.fi. Thank you, if you can send it to my email!!
Mr Sören, we would like to play this march to our wedding. Could you send the score for trumpet and organ to massimomannelli@gmail.com? TAKK!
Add Demondrae Thurman and we just found a killer euphonium quartet.
David Childs........ That all you can say.
Dear Mr Soren, would it be possible have one scan of this wedding march score? A couple requested me to play this but I cannot find the partiture.. Could nyou help me? Thank you so much, my email address is ctarabbia@gmail.com
Ciao Soren thank you, please send it to Paolo@cagnani.it, grazie!
Sure - do you have an email I can send it to (pdf)?
Hello everybody, some can give me the notes for the trumpet ?
Just Amazing. It's David Childs, what you going to do? Ahaha :)
I cannot forget his sound. I think the top of the world is his. Amazing!!!
Nick Childs always played that solo the best.
it can't be a arrangement to new all of them are by sparke
Demondrae Thurman should post a video of this!
My God, this is incredible. I have to play this as a sophomore in high school, so this is excellent demonstration listening.
holy shito. . .i pass out now.
i wish i could see Brian Bowman, David Childs, and Steven Mead play this together and maybe along with Harlequin, if their chops are still good!
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I listened to both David Childs and Steven Mead play this and I think David Childs plays it better. Just saying. (:
ua-cam.com/video/QQbpqOdoluI/v-deo.html
I like this, too. But first the Video with Maed is less qualitative and Mead did it better in my opinion because he played it with more feeling but in this video the soloist played it very accurate.
i just died from how awesome this is. then was brought back to life for the same reason. amazing..
@MrEuphoniumGuy Try studio-music.co.uk - search for Pantomime and you will find the solo part as well as available arrangements for Wind Band (this) and Brass Band. Can't send a link in the reply - since I get an Error when I try. So Google studio-mucic.co.uk.
omg. david childs is sucha good player... o_o
I think Dave is a great inspiration to all us 19 year old players, I learnt so much from him!
David Childs RULES ,on the note I love euphonium
@Tnova92 concert Eb. high as hell too.
I love the fast part ending at 7:15 Im gonna try to play this for next years solo and ensemble for my senior year..... but idk.
did you ever end up playing it?
Impossible to smooth it out that much. Besides. Dont diss the euph :O its pure win :P
I was privilaged enough to play this solo with the Old Dominion University Wind Ensemble back in 99. I was so very nervous. David Childs plays wonderfully but I have to agree with Jipoman that I've heard a much better performance from Steven Mead on this. Roger Behrend remains my favorite euphonium soloist. Got to study under him from 96-later half of 97. Great experience. But....love Childs. Great stuff
I don't like to admit it, but he's right. But when you listen to the whole song you have to admit that David Childs is a fantastic musician. greetings from the Netherlands.
Why dont you like to admit it?
